Made with 100% Certified Organic Similkameen Apples and Pears

This fresh crisp acidic wine has deceiving aromas of sweet baked apples with a surprisingly big midpalate with a dry and fresh palate of green apples, quince, spice and a touch of pineapple.  Made with 5 Varieties of Organic Similkameen Apples (Ambrosia, Gala, Macintosh, HoneyCrisp, Golden) and 3 Varieties of Organic Similkameen Pears (D’Anjou, Bartlett and Comice) This wine mimics an Unoaked Chardonnay with a bit of a Gewurztraminer, with its fresh green apple, pear, spice and pineapple nuances.

APPLE PEAR SANGRIA

*1 Bottle Rustic Roots Apple Pear

*4oz Organic Vodka

*4 cups Harker’s Organics Organic Apple Cider

*1 Organic Apple cut into cubes and frozen

*1 Organic Pear cut into cubes and frozen

Mix all liquid ingredients in a large punch bowl, or I like to use a steel bucket, let sit for a couple of hours add in frozen fruit and serve

Wine Makers Notes

Again, the rule of thumb for fruit wines is to drink them young, this wine is a key example otherwise.  As this wine is aging its spicy pear notes are becoming more prominent.   It is showing more complexity on the palate without becoming reductive.  It is one of my favorite wines to have with Thanksgiving or Christmas Turkey as it plays of herbs such as Thyme and Sage beautifully.
